2019 Comm-Works Technology Symposium

The Fourth Annual Comm-Works Technology Symposium, held this year at the Chaska Curling Center in Chaska, MN, generated a lot of buzz for IT industry professionals looking to learn and prepare for new technology and industry trends.

The event featured a live panel discussion from Comm-Works leaders in physical/electronic security, enterprise wireless, and IT managed services, as well as contributions from representatives with partner companies.

John Ringis, VP of Security, Doug Plooster, VP of Managed Services, and Peter Byrd, Wireless Practice Leader, all provided critical insights on industry trends, best practices, and a look at what’s coming and how to prepare for it. David Thompson from March Networks, as well as Bill Morgan from Fortinet, also contributed to the panel with their knowledge of industry trends.

Following the morning’s live panel discussion was the curling activity. Representatives from the Chaska Curling Center, which is the national training center for USA Curling, provided a short educational demonstration of curling rules and technique before participants could partake in curling themselves.

Eric Gordon, President of Versitae, gave his keynote presentation after the curling activity. Eric’s keynote presentation outlined “Improving Your Digital Success.” Eric discussed what digital transformation is, the changes and challenges it brings to your organization, and how to prepare for those changes and challenges.

The afternoon wrapped up with a vendor tradeshow, featuring booths from Comm-Works partners; Graybar, Fortinet, March Networks, Cisco, Ingram Micro, and HP.

The evening events continued at the Victoria Burrow Event Center in Victoria, MN, where attendees ate dinner and participated in axe throwing, mini golf, corn hole, and more.

Comm-Works would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the hosts, guests, sponsors, and contributors of the Technology Symposium. The event was made possible by all who were a part of it, and we are looking forward to next year!
