30 Jun Comm-Works Partners with Second Harvest Heartland to Lend a Helping Hand
Comm-Works is dedicated to giving back to the communities we’re a part of by providing our employees with an avenue and the time to donate. Recently, our organization participated in a food drive with Second Harvest Heartland to provide food and household supplies to families in need.
Comm-Works chose to partner with Second Harvest Heartland because it’s their mission to feed the neighbors in our communities’. We appreciate their focus on stabilizing hungry families and strengthening the hunger relief system by delivering millions of meals to thousands of food shelves in Minnesota and Western Wisconsin.
Members of the Second Harvest Heartland team spoke to Comm-Works about their mission to ensure children and families receive wholesome food and their partner programs that provide direct client service to people in need. 1 in 10 Minnesotan households are affected by hunger and Second Harvest Heartland’s values guide their efforts to help these families.
During the course of the food drive, employees donated; canned goods, grains, household supplies, and complete meals.
Overall, Comm-Works’ employees generated 369 pounds of food, 71 pounds of household items, and $525.00 in cash for Second Harvest Heartland. The effort will provide 2,017 meals for local families and individuals in need. We had a great experience partnering with Second Harvest Heartland and we’re proud of our efforts and contributions as a company.
